Summary:
This movie is a 2008 South Korean Romantic Comedy film and was inspired by Shakespeare’s classic “The Taming of the Shrew” of the same name (according to research). Beautiful and rich, Yeon-su (Park Jung-Ah) lives a life of freedom and indulgence, having any man she wants. That is, until she meets and falls for her polar opposite in Jung-do, an awkward and polite young gentleman ( He is so handsome ). Meeting her future in-laws is a baptism by fire as she learns to become a proper lady. Little does she know that the family is actually the head of a notorious mob, setting up a blood feud. And she will become the 13th eldest daughter in law.
Thoughts :
Just finished watching this Korean Movie.I felt the love, I cried, I laughed but the most significant above all is, I was touched by how this movie told me regarding differences with life’s status, the differences with families and also the understanding of each families culture as well.
When I saw the girl and her attitudes here I already compared her to the generations of today and I thought most of the traits she has was just the same of the generations of today has. But Watching the transformation of Yeon Soo was hilarious and fun to watch. From party girl to proper daughter-in-law.Opposite with the Boy in the Movie, he is quite of “shy boy” in a small town of somewhere that just dropped by in the City one day. The two clashed and found their differences and how to understand each other. What is more important is this movie thought me of cultural understanding and being a flexible person is necessary. If you know how to be with anyone then the world would be perfect.
Whatever might wealth has given us pride and freewill, but then again in the end we came to realize that everything we did for money will never be make us satisfied and successful.
